it's not easy being green

Yay it's almost St. Patty's Day! The one day of the year when everyone is a little bit Irish :) As you probably know, St. Patrick's Day is huge in Chicago. This is mostly due to some Irish settlers' history lesson that no one really remembers anymore, however people of all nationalities love St. Patty's Day. And of course this is because people will take use any excuse to a let loose and have a few drinks, whether it be green beer or some Irish whiskey.

Funky vintage costume ideas

The wind is feeling colder, the leaves are falling, and tank tops and short-shorts are long gone... that only means one thing- it's finally fall! Layers, layers, layers everywhere. Fall fashion is a wonderful change from our swimsuits and simple summer dresses. And now that the weather has changed, that means it's almost time for one of our favorite holidays- Halloween!

Coming up with an original costume can be pretty tough, but it can also be a lot of fun. Rather than going to your typical Halloween superstore down the street, why not come by krispyfringe | vintage and see what you can dig up? 1969

America is still mourning the loss of an important hero of US history, Neil Armstrong, who passed away last week.  In 1969, he was the first astronaut to walk on the moon, which was a huge moment for the entire world. It truly was "One small step for man; one giant leap for mankind." Along with the moon landing, 1969 was an iconic year in history, with many major events which happened that year. Richard Nixon became president, Woodstock happened, The Beatles releases 'Abbey Road', and The Brady Bunch debuted on national television.

Not only was this a huge year for politics and pop culture, but it was a huge year for fashion. Clothing made a huge change as the world was now entering the 1970's. Women's fashions were becoming much more fitted and a lot more simple. The hippie movement was also happening, with bell bottoms, tie-dye, and fringe vests everywhere. Here are some photos from Life Magazine of fashionistas in New York in the summer of 1969.
